This book and DVD series are fantastic. Ross is a bit crazy the way he works. This guy defines “Work Ethic” in this educational series.
Why is this important to me?
I always want to make sure that when I make a video, it’s worth it from your perspective. This program is vital if you want to step up your training and get in really good shape. You can use some of these tools as a beginner, but you’ll see things escalate quickly for Ross.
Also, if you want to maximize stamina and energy, this is the program for you. Ross is a combat sports coach and knows what it takes to train effectively to win.
If you are a boxer, MMA fighter, or wrestler, this program will help you build your gut for peak performance. A well-conditioned athlete outperforms a more talented athlete in the later rounds – EVERY time.
There’s a lot of great stuff in this program and I’ll cover some of the highlights and show you some clips of Ross himself doing things.
1.3 Energy Systems – Ross discusses ATP-PC, glycogen and aerobic energy systems in detail. It uses research and explains in detail how these systems work. In a nutshell, you have three energy systems, consisting of two anaerobic and one aerobic. The goal of this type of training is to increase net work output and maximize all three energy systems in order to do so. If you’re a boxing or MMA fan, you may have noticed that fighters have more power in their punches at the beginning of fights than they do later on. This is related to the anaerobic system shutting down and losing energy. Ross shows you how to increase anaerobic work capacity with aerobic rest periods to increase total work output. This is great stuff. The two best fighters – Manny Pacquiao and Pretty Boy Floyd Mayweather have incredible endurance and energy, which is why they have been champions for so long.
2. Interval Training – Interval training is the best way to develop your aerobic and anaerobic energy systems. Research shows that intense interval training offers the best of both worlds. Side note: If you want to lose weight / lose fat, this type of workout will melt it away. Interval training provides a mechanism to burn calories throughout the day. Research shows that sprint training, interval work, and other forms of intensity help your body burn calories—ALL DAY. This secret is the key to dissolving fat. You can run long distances and this workout burns more calories DURING EXERCISE. The rest of the day matters if you want to burn calories, and interval training is the key.
3. Diversity – The biological law of adaptation. This law states that the body’s response to a constant stimulus decreases over time. I never knew boredom had a technical name. If you’ve been working out for any length of time, there are plateaus in your workout routines. The body and mind are a wonderful combination and allow you to adapt to stimuli. Some training programs get around this with muscle strain. They fundamentally change the type of exercises you do. This law applies to all areas of your life. If you haven’t had New York Strip steak in a long time and you love steak, when you finally have it, it’s going to be delicious. If you eat dinner every day this month, you will be bored and not good anymore. The same is true for practice routines.
Ross combines different exercises with full intensity and timed relaxation between sets. Remember that the goal of your training is to maximize work output in the shortest possible time.
Basically, this is the holy grail of training, because you can accumulate results in a shorter period of time. If you’ve watched any of my recaps, you know I’m a big fan of compound effects and saving time.
The clip I’m going to show you is an advanced clip, so don’t be discouraged if you can’t do it. I bet 98% of the population, myself included, can’t do that, but it’s a great goal to strive for.
Full Throttle Conditioning is an excellent program that allows you to step up your training game. As GH depletes over time, we lose energy and zest for life. Interval training helps increase energy in the long run.

One thing you can take away from this book is the jump rope. I know this sounds basic, but a lot of people don’t like to run.
