Disney and Asus Have Got Together to Make a Safe Netbook For Kids
Disney, in collaboration with Asus, has announced the launch of a kid-friendly Mini Laptop designed for 6-12 year olds. Coming in two styles, Princess Pink and Magical Blue, the Disney NetPal Asus MK90H and MK90 are rumored to be released around August 1st, 2009, with an MSRP of $349.99.
Netpal has been developed with kids and parents in mind and goes from box to setup in four easy steps. With 40 parental controls, it gives parents perfect control, while giving children the safe but real experience of a Netbook. The unique and intuitive visual Disney interface provides children with a magical and captivating experience.

1 GB DDR2 RAM
1x SODIMM slot, maximum 2 GB for extra memory
160 GB SATA hard drive (Asus MK90H)
or 16 GB SSD (Asus MK90)

Magic Disney desktop software
LED backlight screen with 1024×600 resolution
Packed with plenty of power, tough and durable, it also includes a drop-resistant keyboard and Shock Shield protection to help save data in the event of a fall.
Named “Gadget Tray”, the Disney UI features a creatively designed, easy-to-use 2D menu with a Disney-themed browser. The stunning visual environment includes Disney Pix Photo software, which features a Disney Bobble head and allows children to place anyone’s face on top of their body and download them into videos and act out moving dance scenes.
It also includes a driving game, memory game, number game, photo album, stopwatch, digital notepad and Radio Disney, which broadcasts real-time music while kids can request songs.
Kids can customize their desk with over 10 customizable themes, including popular characters from Disney and Disney Pixar such as Vintage Mickey, Toystory, Wall-e, Cars and more, Hannah Montana and Jonas for slightly older children.
Asus Disney Netpal allows parents to create a secure web environment, including scheduling access for each program day and time limit. They can also obtain information about how and where the children spent their time on Netpal.
The only difference between the two models is that the drives weigh less than 3 pounds. Rumor has it that the Disney Netpal MK90H will only be available on Amazon, while the MK90 will be exclusive to Toy “R” Us.
