Guitar Songs For Beginners – Top 3 Easiest Guitar Songs Ever Written Anyone Can Play

Playing the guitar is one of life’s deepest joys. But many beginning guitarists get discouraged too quickly. The problem is that very often they try to learn guitar pieces that are too difficult for them. If you are a beginner then you should learn guitar songs for beginners first. Here are three super easy songs to start with:

1- A horse without a name – America

No doubt you know this song. This is the easiest song I can think of and my 9 year old son played it on his first day of guitar lessons. It’s very simple and you only need to learn two chords; E minor and Dadd6add9 (shown below). Don’t let the names of the chords scare you, both chords only require two fingers. In case you don’t know how to read tablature, the first line represents the first string, which is the high E, and the last line represents the low Et. The numbers indicate which fret to play.

E minor – Dadd6add9

—–0———2—– (ring finger Dadd6add9)

—–2———0—– (middle finger E minor)

—–2———0—– (E minor index)

—–0———2—– (index Dadd6add9)

2- For what it’s worth – Buffalo Springfield

This song also has only two chords. These are E and A major. They are a bit more complicated as they require three fingers to play instead of two as in the previous track, but they are still very easy to master. An x in the table below means not to play that string.

E major – A major

—–0———2—– (The ring finger)

—–1———2—– (E index, A middle finger)

—–2———2—– (Ring finger E, Index finger A)

—–2———0—– (middle finger E)

—–0———–x—–

3. I feel good – Traffic

Now the cool thing about this song is that you don’t have to learn new chords. It was made with the same two chords as in the previous song; E and A major.
