I wanted to tell a story about my journey learning how to use my computer. Have you ever felt like you just don’t have the skills to learn your computer and its applications? Have you ever been so frustrated with your computer that you just want to throw it out the window?

That was me too. When I started playing online, at first I just surfed and looked at pages. Every time I came across a beautiful website; and I saw the web designer put all the custom apps on his site, I’d feel really bad because I didn’t feel like I had the skills to do those things, even though I really had great ideas.

Then I decided to thoroughly study my computer based on what I wanted to do online. I really wanted to blog about important information. I really wanted to share links to other sites and I really wanted to use a video format to express myself online.

I didn’t have time to go back to school, so I decided to write a book with pictorial examples explaining each instruction. Subject: Introduction to computer use, the basics

Course description:

This course is designed to teach you the basics of understanding and using a computer. The format is simple and all the instructions are accompanied by picture examples to dispel any fears as the instructions are supported by the appropriate picture at each step.

We’ll cover things like creating documents, sharing documents online, how Microsoft Works works, including font size, editing documents, creating video formats, navigating the web, and helpful little tips to make things easier while discover your computer applications.

The course outline consists of three parts as follows:

Introduction to Part One: Getting Started Using Your Computer to Create Microsoft Word Documents. With this, you can begin to learn the basics of text editing, embedding graphics, modifying graphics, and understanding toolbar functions.

Study topics, first part:

Create and save a Microsoft Word document.

Formatting the document page.

How to choose a font for your document.

Add images: Open the image storage file on your computer

Open the image storage file on your computer (Adding images continued).

Search for images in your computer’s image folder.

Find images stored in your computer’s image file in a named folder.

Resize image.

Use the Toolbox to edit an image.

Format an image using the Image toolbar.
